- Original sound
- Audio a creator records themselves rather than a library track. When a video takes off, its 'original sound' becomes a discoverable page others can reuse — a real growth loop for pet creators.
- Trending sound
- An audio clip many creators are using at once. Riding a trending sound early can lift reach, because the platform groups videos by sound and surfaces them together.
- Sound page
- The screen that lists every video using a given audio. A shared sound page is how a format spreads from one pet niche to the next.
- Use this sound
- The button that lets you make a video with the same audio you just heard. It's the mechanic that turns one clip into a trend.
- Add Yours / templates
- Interactive stickers and CapCut-style templates tied to a sound that invite viewers to make their own version — great for 'show me your pet' prompts.
- Sped-up / nightcore
- A pitched-up, faster edit of a song that often trends separately from the original. Common under fast, funny pet montages.
- Beat sync
- Cutting or moving in time with the music's beat so a montage feels satisfying even when each shot is ordinary.
- Voiceover
- Narration recorded over footage — the backbone of 'storytime' rescue content and pet 'inner monologue' videos.
- Sound-on design
- Making a video that only works with audio (a punchline, a song drop). The opposite of silent-viewing design, which leans on captions.
- Commercial Music Library
- The cleared-for-business catalog brands and monetizing creators must use to avoid copyright strikes. Trending pop songs usually aren't in it.
- Copyright / muted audio
- When a platform detects protected music it may mute or limit a video. Why creators favour original or cleared sounds for anything sponsored.
- Audio meme
- A short spoken or musical snippet with a shared meaning (a gasp, a catchphrase) that viewers instantly 'get' when it plays over a pet clip.
- Save / favourite a sound
- Bookmarking audio to use later. Creators keep a 'sound bin' of rising audios to jump on before they peak.
- Lip sync
- Mouthing along to audio — often used to voice a pet's 'reaction' to a situation.
- ASMR audio
- Quiet, tactile sound (brushing, crunching, paws on floor) recorded close-up to soothe viewers; heavy in grooming and feeding content.
