🍂 Fall & holiday hazards
Cooler days, lingering ticks, and the holiday foods to keep away.
Autumn is a comfortable season for most pets, with a couple of things to watch.
Ticks stay active until a hard freeze, so don't stop prevention early. Cooler weather is great for longer walks - just ease seniors into more activity.
The holidays bring the year's biggest run of food emergencies. Keep chocolate, xylitol (sugar-free gum and baking), grapes and raisins, onions and garlic, and rich fatty table scraps out of reach - all are toxic or can trigger pancreatitis. Our poison-control page has the hotline numbers if something gets eaten.
