🌸 Spring allergies & shedding
Seasonal itch, the big shed, and the start of flea & tick season.
As things warm up, two things spike: environmental allergies and parasites.
Seasonal (atopic) allergies show up on the skin - itching, licking, red ears - more than the nose. Wiping paws and coat after walks reduces pollen contact; your vet can advise on relief for persistent cases.
Spring is also peak shedding for double-coated pets, so brush more often to stay ahead of mats. And it's the start of flea and tick season - prevention is far easier than treating an infestation or a tick-borne illness, so talk to your vet about a year-round plan.
